Children’s Summer Dance Workshops

July - August 2025
Ages 4-7

Goh Ballet’s Children’s Summer Dance Workshops invite budding dancers ages 4 to 7 on an unforgettable journey where movement, music, and storytelling come to life. Each day begins with ballet, fostering grace and coordination, followed by a specially curated arts and creations class. Little artists craft imaginative pieces inspired by the weekly theme.

Enchanted Storytime encourages them to explore storytelling through dance and drama. In the afternoon, children experience a mix of theatrical adventures, rhythm exploration, and costume creation—nurturing creativity in every form. Students will have the opportunity for inspiration with time designated for offering students the unique opportunity to observe Senior dancers in ballet classes, igniting their passion for the arts. The day winds down with Floating Clouds, a calming and mindful reflection session.

To celebrate their magical week, students will showcase what they’ve learned in a special presentation on Friday morning, with families invited to attend in person. This immersive program weaves together dance, drama, music, and art to inspire a lifelong appreciation for creativity and culture.

Wicked | July 14 – 18, 2025

Young dancers will defy gravity as they leap, twirl, and imagine! Inspired by the hit movie Wicked, this week is filled with dynamic ballet movements, enchanting music, and themed arts & crafts that transport dancers to the magical world of Oz.

Snow White | July 21 – 25, 2025

Step into a fairy tale where kindness, adventure, and dance take center stage! Dancers will explore graceful movements inspired by Snow White and her woodland friends while creating charming crafts and bringing the beloved story to life.

Enchanted Kingdom: A Journey through Fairy Tales | August 11 – 15, 2025

A week of wonder, where dancers twirl through classic fairy tales! From Cinderella’s ballroom to Sleeping Beauty’s enchanted forest, young dancers will move through timeless stories, expressing their creativity through ballet, storytelling, and magical crafts.

Dance Around the World: A Cultural Ballet Adventure | August 18 – 22, 2025

Travel the world through dance! Each day explores ballet and folk-inspired movement from a different country, celebrating cultural traditions, music, and artistic expression.

Saturday Summer Ballet

July 12 - August 2, 2025
Ages 3-10

Introduce young dancers to the joy of movement, rhythm, and creative expression. Designed for children ages 3 to 10, these engaging and age-appropriate classes provide an inspiring foundation in ballet while fostering confidence, coordination, and imagination. Led by highly experienced, award-winning instructors, our curriculum blends structured ballet fundamentals with creative exploration, ensuring each child feels encouraged and motivated as they develop their skills.

Ballet & Beyond - July 2025 Summer Intensives

Goh Ballet's newly introduced 2025 July International Summer Intensives offer a transformative experience for aspiring dancers, designed to develop artistry and confidence both on and off the stage.

Featuring specialty classes led by industry experts—from audition preparation to nutrition and dance psychology—these intensives build the whole dancer across two transformative sessions. Session One: Competition Preparation and Performance Essentials hones technical skills and readiness, while Session Two: Choreography, Repertoire, and Beyond deepens artistry and creative expression. Tailored for the holistic dancer, it prepares participants to thrive in the dynamic world of dance, embodying the philosophy of "Beyond Dance" for the dancer of today.

Guest Instructors

Tara Birtwhistle

Former Principal Artist & Current Associate Artistic Director with Royal Winnipeg Ballet

Tara Birtwhistle is a renowned dancer and leader with over 20 years as a Principal Artist at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. After an acclaimed stage career, including roles like Lucy in Dracula and Juliet in Romeo & Juliet, she retired in 2010 and transitioned into leadership as RWB's Associate Artistic Director in 2018. Birtwhistle is instrumental in the company’s artistic operations and its efforts in equity, diversity, and reconciliation with Indigenous communities. She also serves as Council Chair for Artistic Directors Dance/USA. With 32 years at RWB, she continues to inspire and support the next generation of artists.

Ms. Birtwhistle will be joining us for Session One: Competition Preparation and Performance Essentials of Ballet & Beyond.

Valentina Kozlova

Former Principal Dancer with Bolshoi Ballet, The Australian Ballet & New York City Ballet

Valentina Kozlova is a renowned dancer and choreographer, known for her career as a Principal dancer with the Bolshoi Ballet and The Australian Ballet, and as a Principal with New York City Ballet. After defecting from the Soviet Union in 1979, she performed internationally and made her Broadway debut in On Your Toes in 1982. Kozlova has taught and coached worldwide, earning numerous awards including the Teacher of Distinction Award and Best Teacher Award at Youth America Grand Prix. In 2011, she founded the Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition (VKIBC). Honored with the Carnegie Corporation's "Great American, Great Immigrant" recognition in 2018, she continues to shape the ballet world as a master teacher and choreographer.

Ms. Kozlova will be joining us for Session Two: Choreography, Repertoire, and Beyond of Ballet & Beyond.

Precision & Passion - August 2025 Summer Program

August 11 - 20, 2025
Ages 7-16+ (4 levels)

Step into the heart of ballet at Goh Ballet’s Precision & Passion August Summer Program. Over the course of the week, this newly inspired program offers a balanced blend of classical technique and contemporary movement, designed for students dedicated to enhancing their skills and broadening their artistic range. With expert guest instructors and a comprehensive curriculum, participants will sharpen their skills and deepen their performance abilities.

From the soaring height of technique to the emotional depth of artistry, students experience new ways of moving and expressing themselves through performance. The program culminates in a performance presentation, offering dancers the opportunity to showcase their progress in a professional setting. Discover the essence of ballet, where skill and creativity unite to shape the artists of tomorrow.

Guest Instructors

Peter Boal

Artistic Director of Pacific Northwest Ballet & Pacific Northwest Ballet School

Peter Boal is the Artistic Director of Pacific Northwest Ballet and Pacific Northwest Ballet School, a role he has held since 2005. A former principal dancer with New York City Ballet, Boal trained at the School of American Ballet under George Balanchine and performed with New York City Ballet for 22 years. He founded Peter Boal and Company in 2002 and joined the School of American Ballet's faculty in 1997. At Pacific Northwest Ballet, he oversees artistic operations and has staged works by Balanchine, Robbins, and Dove.

Mr. Boal will be joining us for Precision & Passion.
