"A Tribute to Ballet's Golden Age"
Celebrate the legacy of the father of classical ballet at Goh Ballet’s Hommage à Petipa. This showcase will feature a curated selection of the legendary choreographer’s most iconic works, restaged by the Goh Ballet artistic faculty,
demonstrating Petipa’s lasting influence on both dancers and audiences alike.
Showcase Performances
It is our strong belief that gaining performance opportunities regularly at professional venues, becoming fluent through exposure to the great classical repertoire, and pushing boundaries through new creations is the best ways to ensure our dancers’ success.
The Goh Ballet features annual performance showcases with original choreography created specifically for our students allowing them several opportunities to exhibit their talents. Notable repertoire by George Balanchine, Marius Petipa, and some of today’s most sought after choreographers have also been commissioned. Throughout the school year at festivals, competitions, special events, educational outreach shows, the annual holiday production of The Nutcracker, as well as the annual showcase, we offer the chance to perform to an appreciative audience. Performance provides students with the experience and charisma that will assist them in furthering their aspirations for future career goals and to cultivate their appreciation for the arts. This tremendous sense of achievement and confidence building is invaluable to a student’s development.
All students are invited to participate in the annual showcase performances. Dedicated class time in the second term is devoted to rehearsing works for the performance.
