Showcase Performances

It is our strong belief that gaining performance opportunities regularly at professional venues, becoming fluent through exposure to the great classical repertoire, and pushing boundaries through new creations is the best ways to ensure our dancers’ success.

The Goh Ballet features annual performance showcases with original choreography created specifically for our students allowing them several opportunities to exhibit their talents. Notable repertoire by George Balanchine, Marius Petipa, and some of today’s most sought after choreographers have also been commissioned. Throughout the school year at festivals, competitions, special events, educational outreach shows, the annual holiday production of The Nutcracker, as well as the annual showcase, we offer the chance to perform to an appreciative audience. Performance provides students with the experience and charisma that will assist them in furthering their aspirations for future career goals and to cultivate their appreciation for the arts. This tremendous sense of achievement and confidence building is invaluable to a student’s development.

All students are invited to participate in the annual showcase performances. Dedicated class time in the second term is devoted to rehearsing works for the performance. Please see below for information on our Spring Showcase Performances in 2021!

Coppélia: A Virtual Rendition Into the Past
Swanhilda, daughter of the Burgomaster, is engaged to Franz but he has his eye on the mysterious girl sitting on the balcony of Dr Coppélius’ house. Franz does not realise that she is a doll whom the toymaker is trying to bring to life and when Swanhilda and her friends sneak into the Doctor’s workshop it looks as though he has succeeded. Love triumphs over all in this comedy of mistaken identity and the finale is a joyful celebration of the young lovers’ wedding.

La Boutique Fantasque
A captivating story of magic, mayhem and merriment all brought to life in an old Parisian toyshop.  Join the toy maker and his exquisite dancing dolls performed by Goh Ballet’s Children’s Division with select awarding-winning Junior and Senior dancers as they charm, captivate and entertain the unsuspecting patrons!
