Children’s Weekly Summer Dance Workshops

Nurture your child’s creativity and love for dance with Goh Ballet’s summer workshops designed for budding dancers aged 4-7. Themed weekly workshops held for boys and girls incorporate familiar characters, stories, music, as well as arts and crafts sessions to encourage self-expression and inspire the imagination. For students between the ages of 4 and 7 years, these summer workshops will develop confidence and kindle imagination.

Virtual option also available for select workshop themes!

Pre-School & Pre-Primary Summer Ballet

JULY 6 - AUGUST 1, 2020
Ages 4 & 5

Budding, young dancers ages 4 and 5 will explore the fun of ballet while developing and improving their understanding of basic technique. Class work will focus on simple movements to help boost balance and coordination. A great introduction to the world of ballet, during these fun and lively classes students will develop a sense of musicality and rhythm, alongside being encouraged to use their imagination and show creativity.

Classes will be delivered once per week, making this program perfect for families who’s busy schedules cannot accomodate a week-long workshop!

Classical Ballet Summer Program

JULY 6 - AUGUST 1, 2020
Ages 6-10

For students who would like a program to propel them to work to their best potential, this four week accelerated program is a wonderful chance to learn and build foundational ballet skills and vocabulary with our esteemed faculty. This stimulating program delivered twice weekly is perfect for helping aspiring dancers to reach the next step in their development!

Ballet Star Level 1, 2 & 3

July 6 - August 1, 2020
Ages 5-11

A new summer training program for students ages 5 through 11 who would like to dance twice weekly!

Over the course of this four week program, students will focus on refining the fundamentals of their ballet technique and expanding their dance vocabulary as well as developing a deeper understanding of musicality and performance interpretation.

Be a “Star” this summer and take part in this opportunity most suitable for younger students looking for a program with less frequency but who wish to continue dancing over the summer. Classes will be delivered two days a week from July 6 - August 1, 2020. Jazz classes are offered to Star Level 2 & 3 to further enhance expressiveness and confidence.

Learn story telling through mime and ballet vocabulary, build on coordination and concentration. Dance with us and shine!

Comprehensive summer programs for dedicated students and aspiring professionals
Goh Ballet’s International Summer Intensives for Senior and Junior level students offer comprehensive educational programs that are specifically designed to assist each dancer gain technique, learn new choreographic repertoire and challenge themselves to strive for excellence. Opportunities are offered for varying levels of students. The 2020 International Summer Intensives will run from Monday July 6th through Saturday August 1st.

During our four-week summer program, students will be assessed for possible acceptance into Goh Ballet’s annual programs including the Junior School and Senior Professional Division.

Scholarships are available for both national and international students. Goh Ballet is committed to fostering talent and supporting families needing financial assistance. More information is available upon acceptance into the program.

Senior International Summer Intensive

Goh Ballet’s International Senior Summer Intensive is especially designed for students age 14+ who are focused on exploring a professional career in dance. Participants are instructed and mentored by some of the most distinguished annual faculty members as well as prominent guest instructors. Training six days a week this intensive features a curriculum that includes Classical Ballet, Musical Theatre, Mime/Dance Acting, Pas de Deux, Repertoire, Contemporary, Men’s Work, Pilates and Health and Well-being. Programs are structured to nurture each student’s individuality to best prepare them for their future careers. Through dedicated instruction which propell progress, participants will reach new artistic heights and gain invaluable mentorship to aid career development.

Junior Summer Intensive

The Junior Summer Intensive for students ages 7 to 14 is a unique program designed to accelerate technical ability and performance skills. Classes with guest and annual faculty members are held five days per week, tailored to elevate artistic understanding. Introduction to stylistic influences such as Bournonville, Petipa and Balanchine will be incorporated into weekly training and repertoire work.
Also included in the curriculum are National Dances, Stretch and Body Conditioning as well as Dance Acting supporting students with a well-balanced outlook into the world of dance! The culmination of student’s progress and achievements will be shown at a special presentation for friends and family during the final week.

Ballet Through Time Units

Six day units from August 10 – 29, 2020
Ages 9-19

Weekly stylistic units of dance from August 10 – 29 focusing on the influential eras of ballet throughout time for students ages 9-19.

Introducing a journey through the evolution of ballet! Students will study technical elements and stylistic influences of some of the most prominent and distinguished choreographers from various eras of ballet, expanding their artistic interpretation. Grouped by age and ability, classes will explore the repertoire, techniques and styles of certain periods in dance history.

Delivered in three different units of interest with each spanning the course of six days, students can either register to join all three weeks, or pick and choose between their favourite units!

Groups & Pre-Requisites

  • Group 1: Ages 13+
    Students must have completed RAD Grade 6 and higher or equivalent. Knowledge of pointe work is required and students will take pointe class each day.
  • Group 2: Ages 9-12
    Students must have completed RAD Grade 3 and higher or equivalent. Students who are training on pointe will be asked to dance a part of the day en pointe.
