Adult Ballet Classes

Our Adult Ballet classes offer several benefits for your body, mind and overall wellness. A total body and mind workout set to classical piano music, Adult Ballet utilizes fundamental ballet movement technique to shape, lengthen and tone your muscles. Our classes accommodate dancers at various skill levels. Whether you have a background in dance, or have never danced before, you can drop-in to a class level that is right for you and feel ballet beautiful.

Class Levels

Introductory

This class is the perfect starting point for absolute beginners with little to no movement or dance experience. This gentle, welcoming class is designed to build confidence and comfort before transitioning into a full ballet class.
Taught at a slow and supportive pace, students are introduced to the very basics of classical ballet, including posture, balance, fundamental foot and arm positions, musicality, and simple movement patterns. Guided stretching and introductory coordination exercises help develop body awareness, core strength, and ease of movement in a relaxed, encouraging environment.
Ideal for those new to structured physical activity, returning to movement after time away, or seeking a stress-free entry into ballet, this class provides the essential foundation needed to move confidently into Adult Ballet Beginner.

Beginner

Adult Ballet Beginner is designed for dancers who are newer to ballet or returning after time away and are ready for a structured, full ballet class. This level builds on the fundamentals introduced in Introductory while continuing to support beginners at a comfortable and approachable pace.
Students will learn essential positions, posture, and movement vocabulary through thoughtfully structured barre and centre exercises. Emphasis is placed on coordination, balance, flexibility, strength, and musicality, helping dancers develop confidence and body awareness.
Classes provide a supportive environment where dancers can enjoy steady progress, establish strong technical foundations, and prepare for advancement into Adult Ballet Beginner/Intermediate.

Beginner/Intermediate

Ideal for dancers with some previous ballet experience, this class offers a supportive pathway for continued growth. Designed for those transitioning from beginner level or returning to ballet, the class reinforces foundational technique while gradually introducing more complex movement patterns and combinations.
Students refine posture, alignment, coordination, and strength through structured barre and centre work, with emphasis on musicality, fluidity, and movement quality.
This class provides a welcoming environment for dancers to deepen their understanding of technique, enjoy the challenge of progression, and continue their ballet journey with clarity and purpose.

Intermediate

Adult Ballet Intermediate is for dancers with prior ballet experience who are ready for a faster-paced class focused on continued technical development. This level bridges the gap between beginner and advanced training, offering increased challenge while maintaining a supportive environment.
Classes feature more demanding barre and centre work, emphasizing precision, strength, coordination, and expressive performance. Dancers work through longer and more complex combinations to build stamina, musicality, and confidence while refining alignment and control.

Intermediate/Advanced

This is the highest level in our adult ballet program, designed for experienced dancers with a solid technical foundation who are comfortable in a faster-paced, physically demanding environment.
Building on skills developed in Intermediate, the class emphasizes refined technique, muscle control, precision, and expressive performance. Barre work is more complex, and centre work includes advanced turning sequences and allegro combinations to promote stamina, artistry, and technical clarity.
Previous ballet training is required. This class is ideal for those seeking continued growth, refinement, and advanced-level training.

Adult Ballet Pointe / Stretch & Strength (Add-On)

Designed for dancers with a strong ballet foundation, this class supports safe, confident, and sustainable pointe work. Intended for dancers who have previously trained en pointe or have instructor approval.
Pointe training focuses on strengthening feet and ankles, refining alignment, and building endurance through structured exercises and choreography.
The Stretch & Strength component complements pointe work by targeting flexibility, core strength, and stability. Dancers improve alignment, reduce injury risk, and support long-term technical growth.
Participants are required to bring a yoga mat or towel and a TheraBand to class.

RAD Silver Swans Ballet Classes (Ages 55+)

Developed by the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) using research into dance for older learners, Silver Swans classes are led by licensed teachers specially trained by the RAD.

Join our welcoming ballet class designed especially for adults 55 and over. No dance experience required. Improve posture, flexibility, and balance while moving to beautiful music in a friendly, supportive atmosphere.

Silver Swans classes are tailored for learners over 55, but everyone is welcome. Whether you’re brand-new to ballet or returning after many years, this is a wonderful way to stay active, healthy, and happy.

Adaptable to your needs and preferences, our option for seated Silver Swans lets you enjoy all the benefits of ballet without leaving your chair. A perfect interactive immersion for anyone with mobility concerns.

Plié Passage Beginner's Workshop

A Plié is the portal to all positions and movements in ballet & dance - you need it for elevation in your jumps; for protecting your muscles when you land; for momentum in your turns; and for every single connection between a movement. The plié is the oxygen that brings your movements to life!

Plié Passage Six Week Beginner Workshop: an introduction to the principles and fundamental movements of classical ballet. Learn the Ballet Basics, Flexibility & Strengthening and feel confident as students move with ease from beginner to Intro level. With a limited class size, students will receive attention and personalized feedback from an experienced instructor, additional resources to enhance the overall experience, and a certificate of completion. This class is progressive and will give you the confidence to strive for continuing to challenge your training. Class capacity for this exclusive workshop is limited.
