Half Day

The Goh Ballet Academy’s Half Day Senior Professional program focuses on preparing aspiring dancers for the challenges and demands of a professional career in dance while still attaining their academic goals. The Academy’s commitment in developing a well-balanced and educated dancer is reflected through the Half Day program, which combines an academic curriculum, carried out by a Vancouver School Board secondary school (through the SPARTS program), with progressive ballet training.

The SPARTS program offers students in grades 8 through 12 the opportunity to complete their academic requirements for secondary school graduation and post-secondary entrance, while allowing them to maintain their rigorous dance training schedule outside of school.  The SPARTS program is open to “high performance” artistic or athletic performers who are seriously committed to their education and training.

The Half Day curriculum is structured to allow talented students the opportunity to develop a solid foundation in classical ballet and all kinds of dance, both technically and artistically. The program focuses on classical ballet, offering classes in pointe, pas de deux, repertoire, variations, as well as exposure to jazz, contemporary, and stylistic dance.

Please contact the Goh Ballet Academy regarding participating SPARTS schools in the Lower Mainland.
