The Goh Ballet Academy structures its Junior School around RAD Graded Exams. There are nine grades of examination, from Primary to Grade 8, numbered progressively in order of complexity. Students may take any grade without having passed previous examinations, provided they meet the minimum age requirements. Candidates may also take an exam as many times as they desire, regardless of the result.
Teachers may offer presentation classes to students who are working towards a specific goal, but cannot complete an exam at the time. Each Presentation Class is based on work from the relevant Grade, and the content is a reduced form of the Grade syllabus examination. Students for both Examination and Presentation Classes receive a certificate with their name and level of attainment. There are three components to the Graded Syllabus – Classical, Free Movement and Character work.
