PERFORMANCES
Early ballet training at the Goh focuses on developing the proper technique and focus - recognizing that bad habits, once learned, can be very hard, if impossible, to break.
Our two yearly gala performances are not just a chance to showcase student progress, though they certainly do that.
Pieces are painstakingly choreographed by our talented artistic staff and teachers. Along with festivals and exams, performances give students and classes a focal point. Not to mention the great fun and comraderie that Goh Ballet families have helping to pull together the shows: costumes, sets, make-up, backstage pandemonium and, lest we forget, the unforgetable show!
All shows are professionally photographed and videotaped so that families can purchase pictures and DVDs and the dancers can perform without the distraction of flash bulbs and other commotion.
Christmas Performance: The artistic committee of Goh Ballet Academy will select students who will participate in the Christmas performance.
- Year-End performance: All students will participate in the Year-End performance in June. A portion of class
time in the second semester (January 2007 – June 2007) will be devoted to rehearsing
pieces for the Year-End Performance in June 2007. If students choose not or are not
able to perform in this Academy-wide performance, they may understudy or learn the
pieces on the side.
