International Student Program
The Academy prides itself in offering an outstanding professional training program for international students. Once an international student has auditioned and is accepted to the Professional Division, they will be placed into either the Full Day Professional Company Training Program, the Half Day Combined Professional Ballet/Academic Program depending on their age, skill and goals. Both of these programs offer educational and public performance opportunities throughout the year so that students learn invaluable stage techniques and gain experience with dancing in front of many types of audiences. This program is open to students throughout the world. Graduates of this program are working with professional dance companies in Canada, the United States, Asia, and Europe. (Testimonials) To find out more, contact admin@gohballet.com ACADEMIC STUDIES In instances where international students wish to attend academic school, the Academy can assist these students with the necessary application forms and contacts required. Please contact admin@gohballet.com for more information. HOUSING Homestays offer students an opportunity to live with a Canadian family and experience daily life in Vancouver. This can be an important component in helping foreign students adjust to Canadian life by improving their English language skills and learning about the culture. The Academy will assist students in making these arrangements, as required.
All international students must have health insurance to protect them against expenses (which can be very costly) resulting from accidents or illness. This health insurance is provided by the Provincial Government of British Columbia (Medical Services Plan) and is available to international students three months after their arrival as students in Canada. The cost of this medical insurance is very reasonably priced. The Academy helps international students apply for this insurance once they have passed the three month eligibility period. |
