Full-Day Professional Program

Entry to the Half-Day or Full-Day Professional Division is by audition only.

The Goh Ballet Academy offers a world class, professional training program for National and International Students through our Professional Division. The Professional Division provides serious, talented students with a structured curriculum that enables them to develop a solid foundation in classical ballet, the fundamental requisite, for a student wishing to pursue a career in dance. The curriculum has been structured to ensure that student reach their maximum potential both technically and artistically at the completion of their training period. The primary teaching method is Vaganova, integrated with the latest methodology employed internationally. At the discretion of the teachers, students may also take Royal Academy of Dance major examinations.

The program’s main emphasis is on classical ballet offering classes in Pointe, Pas de Deux, Repertoire/Variations, and is well rounded with classes in, Jazz, Contemporary, and Stylistic Dance Repertoire; providing students with the necessary experience to join professional companies. Male students benefit in our boys and men’s program. Students are required to commit themselves to the set number of classes for each level and must attend scheduled rehearsals for the numerous performance opportunities which abound.

Professional Division OverviewHaving a proven record of success, Graduates from the Professional Division’s training programs have gone on to dance careers with leading professional companies throughout the world. The program is not only suited for those seeking a career as a professional dancer, but is also recommended for students wishing to pursue a career as a teacher, choreographer or other dance related occupations. Each year, students of this program have been semi-finalists, finalists and prizewinners, not only at the local competition level, but at international competitions such as the Prix de Lausanne, Genee Awards, Jackson International Ballet Competition, Varna International Ballet Competition, New York International Competition, Asia Pacific Competition and others.

Advanced students also have the opportunity to perform on tours internationally. In the past, students have performed in the United States, France, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, thrice to Japan and every two to three years in Mainland China.
