Educational Performances

The Goh Ballet Company has been performing throughout the world and British Columbia for over 20 years. In that time the company has presented educational and cultural programs at hundreds of elementary, secondary and post-secondary schools, even if many members of the company are school-aged themselves. Members of the company come from throughout B.C. and across 5 continents. With intensive daily training and a full performance schedule, they reach and maintain world-class, critically-acclaimed status in a unique blend of multi-cultural, East-meets-West repertoire, classical ballet and contemporary work.

Our educational shows include written materials about the history and evolution of dance, which can be used in the classroom preceding and following the company presentation. During the performance, an emcee guides students through the background of what they will see as they go on a journey through the development of the dance art form and also get a glimpse at the rigours and discipline of training.

With special emphasis on both the technical and artistic aspects of dance, the principles are immediately transferable to any discipline or endeavour, and the similar age of our young, dedicated dancers never fails to connect with the student population.

Fees depend on the distance from our studios in Vancouver and the number of shows. Each year we schedule tours to school districts in the interior of British Columbia and also can perform in schools in other provinces and the United States, as part of our periodic audition and performance tours.

We have been a fixture in the ArtStarts in Schools program for many years. ArtStarts helps to arrange tours of professional artists to schools throughout British Columbia. Schools may make arrangements with us directly or through the ArtStarts program.
