Chun Che Vice Principal

Returning to Vancouver as well is our Vice Principal of Goh Ballet Academy, Mr. Chun Che. As a distinguished former Principal Dancer of the National Ballet of China, Mr. Che’s diverse repertoire included principal roles in the major classics as well as the new revolutionary creations. Mr. Che immigrated to Vancouver, Canada in 1979. His dancing career continued to flourish and it was after immigrating to Canada that Mr. Che’s interest in teaching and choreographing grew. In 1982, Mr. Che took on the position of Vice Principal of the Goh Ballet Academy. His choreography soon gained critical acclaim as presented by the Goh Ballet Youth Company on performance tours throughout Southeast Asia, China, and North America. Many of his students were finalists and award recipients at prestigious international competitions such as the Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland, the New York International Ballet Competition in U.S.A., the Adeline Genee Competition in London, England, and the Jackson International Ballet Competition in U.S.A.

In 1989 Mr. Che moved to Toronto. A much sought after teacher, Mr. Che often conducts Master Classes and Workshops by invitation. He has also served as an adjudicator for The Solo Seal Awards. In 1991, by invitation from Swedish born Artistic Director Mr. Bengt Jorgen, Mr. Che took on the position of Principal Teacher for Ballet Jorgen and at the same time he also took on the responsibilities as Principal Teacher for George Brown Dance.

In 1998, Mr. Che developed Principal by Chan Hon Goh® Inc. Principal shoes - the only ballet shoes in Canada designed by dancers for dancers - have gained immense recognition of excellence in the professional community.

In 1999, Mr. Che accepted a special invitation from Artistic Director, Mr. James Kudelka of the National Ballet of Canada to guest teach the company. When scheduling permits, Mr. Che occasionally accepts guest teaching across Canada, the U.S.A., and Asia.
