
Jian Rong Sheng graduated from the Beijing Dance Academy in 1963 and was accepted into the National Ballet of China, where he toured internationally, dancing lead and soloist roles. He later was also the company’s Ballet Master and stage coach. Mr. Sheng has been a guest artist and teacher on numerous occasions with the Matsyama Ballet of Japan. In 1985, he was a guest artist of the Vancouver Goh Ballet, performing in the Chinese classic, Dream of the Red Chamber. In 1987, he immigrated to Vancouver. He has taught and choreographed award-winning pieces such as Voices of Spring, Souvenirs de Florence and The Mountain and the Forest.
