Yao Ping Zhu – Ballet Master and Production Supervisor

A graduate of the Beijing Dance Academy, Mr. Zhu performed and toured intensively with the Central Ballet Company of China before immigrating to Canada in 1989. As Principal Dancer with the company, he danced lead roles in ballet classics such as Swan Lake, Don Quixote and Giselle. Mr. Zhu has received “World Famous Artist Recognition” from the Chinese Government.

In 1987 he was awarded “Best Partner” award at the 5th International ballet Competition in Osaka, Japan. In 1989, Mr. Zhu had been invited to join the Vancouver Goh Ballet and latterly became Ballet Master. Mr. Zhu’s expertise in the pas de deux technique and the classics make him a highly sought-after coach. His energy and dynamic teaching styles, as well as his attention to technique, enhances his students’ understanding and enjoyment of ballet.
