Ms. Goh was invited to choreograph for the Vancouver Opera’s production of Aida (running April 21^st – May 3^rd 2012) and has been working with 12 Goh Ballet dancers extensively over the past month to bring her choreography to life. "It's really wonderful to have the opportunity to put my vision of dance into such a renowned opera," comments Ms. Goh. "Ever since I was a teenager, I've been fascinated with Egypt and its rituals, myths and stories. During the creation process, I felt all this coming to the surface in my interpretation." Congratulations to Ms. Goh on such a huge accomplishment and collaboration. Vancouver's very own production of The Nutcracker will return to the Centre in Vancouver for Performing Arts December 19^th – 23^rd 2012 for six shows! Captivating audiences and receiving accolades and praise in 2011, the 4th annual production is looking for approximately 200 local talents to share the stage with world renowned Principal Dancers from the New York City Ballet and dance along to the live orchestral accompaniment of the Vancouver Opera Orchestra. This is your chance to share in the magic!

Auditions take place on May 6^th 2012 from 10:30am – 5:30pm at The Scotiabank Dance Centre – 677 Davie Street. The audition categories can be found by clicking HERE and the pre-registration form can be downloaded HERE. Please bring the completed form with you to the auditions. Goh Ballet Presents: The Mad Hatter's Tea Party!
June 10^th 2012 11:30am & 4:30pm
Jules Verne Theatre

You have been cordially invited for high tea at The Mad Hatter's Tea Party! The Goh Ballet Academy is excited to present students from Preschool to A1 in this performance on June 10^th 2012 at 11:30am and 4:30pm. The afternoon's festivities will begin with the spectacular performance about the mystical creatures that roam Wonderland, followed by a reception serving assorted treats. Come watch Alice, the Cheshire Cat and the many characters in The Mad Hatter's Tea Party.

Tickets are on sale (2 tickets per family) for $55.00 each at the Goh Ballet Academy's main office (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday, 9am-5pm). Remaining tickets will be on sale as of May 1^st on a first come first serve basis. Please note that tickets are available for sale through cash or cheque only. Also, purchase two tickets to The Mad Hatter's Tea Party and receive one complementary ticket to Coppelia!

Goh Ballet is proud to announce that in February, Isabelle Chang and Nyssa Song each danced their way to second place (Classical Category – Isabelle Chang and Contemporary Category – Isabelle Chang and Nyssa Song) at the 2012 Tanzolymp Festival in Berlin, Germany. Congratulations girls!

The Goh Ballet is proud to have had our dancers represent Goh Ballet at the 2011 Provincials and this year is no different. Congratulations to Michelle Khoo (Junior Ballet Provincial Representative), Sarah Carver (Intermediate Ballet Provincial Representative) and Theo Duff-Grant (Intermediate Contemporary Provincial Representative)! Goh Ballet would also like to recognize the outstanding amount of Surrey Festival of Dance competitors who came in first, second, and third place in the set solo, open demi-pointe solo, open pointe solo, interpretive solo, interpretive duo, jazz solo, demi-character solo, duo and trio ballet, variations, pas de trois, pas de deux, and group dances - "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," "Opening Number," "Tarantella," "Suite Espagnola," "Ballo Italiano," and finally, "La Bayadere." We wish that we could list all of the individual names of the winners, but due to the amazing amount of talent that our school displayed this year, there simply is not enough room to do so! Congratulations again to all of our winners, you certainly made the Goh Ballet Academy proud!

Over the Easter long weekend, Ms. Goh conducted master class workshops and an audition in Tokyo, Japan. She explains: "With the increasing applications and inquiries from Japan, I felt it was important to personally visit and audition students interested in our Senior Professional and Youth Company programs. The international language of dance and our shared passion for new discoveries made my short visit memorable. I look forward to welcoming to Canada, many of the students who successfully made the requirements for entry." Ms. Goh was also interviewed by Japan's Dance Magazine for her views on directing the Goh Ballet Academy and on the innovation of her shoe company, Principal by Chan Hon Goh Inc.ฎ
